Hold the tool by the very end and apply the tip to the piece, the tool starts to bounce and the sharp end cuts into the clay. It can be used sparingly as decoration or strongly to remove weight and to texture the work. Sharpen with a six-inch mill bastard file29mil Mild steel strapping is used to make this tool.
